Code 43????
Ok.. so I let my dad drive my car. He comes back and its throwing code 43 at me. He said the SES light came on right after he left. He doesnt drive hard, shifts at 1500 rpm or so..
The only thing I have done to the car recently is make a manual fan switch, hook up the power seat, and re-wired my radio(better conections).
I drove it around the other day(without clearing the code) and it ran fine for about 20- 30 minutes, then the SES light finally came on.
Why would I get a code 43??? Electronic Spark Timing (EST)- low voltage -OR- Electronic Spark Control (ESC) circut problems.
What could possibly cause this???

The two things that would trigger the ESC code is knock not being seen during the forced knock test or runaway knock being present or seen by the ecm.
If you can hook up a scanner to it youd be able to tell which it is.

Any scanner that can datalog or show the aldl output. The old code reader wont help much in that respect. The thing that you want to look at is teh number of knock counts as reported through the ALDL.
