Well if your going to completely redo the engine. I would say get a set of vortec heads, a nice mild cam that with a decent LSA so you can tune it(Lt1 cam), a performer intake(or performer RPM if you dont have emissions, the RPM is much better) a holley or 454 tbi throttle body, headers and a full 3" exhaust and thats about it.
If you do all of these things though you are going to need major chip tuning. So you might want to think about that before you do any major mods. You can always start by adding headers and full exhaust to your current setup it makes a really big difference.

i've got a 91 k1500- new cam in it.... works well - dont remember the specs but its pretty much a slightly better than stock cam. headers would be wonderful match with my 2.5 inch duals. - intake like the performer rpm and my 454 tbi would also be great, but i've worked on a highly modified 350 with tbi and didnt have any fun trying to tune it.... it did have a 3500 stall in it though instead of a stick like mine. That made it tough to figure out if i had wrong fuel settings or if it was just the stahl delay .... go slow on the mods. tune as you go.

If I were you, I would do what you want to do, and learn what you have, what you want, and what it takes to get it... not ask what others think you should do because usually - you'll think it sucks when you're done and redo it anyway

gonna close this one up....

start reading up - it wont take but a few searches and you'll have some better questions that are actually worth posting.....

Thanks.
