Oil Leak
Have a TBI 350 in my K5. Vortec heads, edelbrock performer vortec intake. I pulled the intake 2 weeks ago to replace the intake seals. Once I put the intake back on, I had a huge oil leak off the back of the engine. Pulled the intake again and made sure the RTV was done right, and it leaks worse than ever. I am getting oil running all down the back of the engine, even some oil up on the dizzy and cables back there. The only thing I can think is that the oil pressure sensor and piping may be leaking. How do I check that and are there/where are there seals on the sensor and pipes?
Thanks

There are no seals on the pressure sender or elbow. Just threads.
There might be a fairly easy way to see if it's your oil pressure sender. Clean up the whole area as best you can, then wrap the pressure sender and elbow fitting tightly with some clean white cloth. Take it for a spin then check to see if there is any oil around the area. Oil on the outside of the cloth means it's not the sender unit; oil on the inside and you know where your leak is. Do the same for the base of the distributor right around by the dist. clamp.
There's really not many places for the oil to come from by the distributor - it's gotta be either leaking from the pressure sender unit/elbow OR the distributor itself (bad dist gasket).
When I installed my rebuilt 355 into my 89 jimmy, I put pipe sealant (w/teflon) at the tops of the threads of the oil pressure elbow and the sensor itself. Make sure you don't put it on all of the threads, otherwise the sender may not be able to ground out.
Good luck!
