PROM tuning question

I'm guessing the answer to my question is YES, but...
Will I need to have a PROM tuned for my engine to run?
L03 computer to run a 350, holley 670cfm TBI, vortech heads, edelbrock intake, Comp XE268H cam, running 9.5:1 compression.

How would it run (if it would) without a PROM tuned?
Could I get away with using an L05 ECM?

Thanks

Poorly. You no longer have EGR I'm assuming because of the vortecs, which will more than likely cause and error code. As well as the fact that your chip is for the 305 injectors, and I'm guessing you're running 65pph w/ the holley 670.

Using an L05 chip will help, but you will still have egr problems.

Go to http://www.tbichips.com and he will hook you up. It is a very well spent $30, especially when comparing it to the $300= dollars for other company's custom chips.

"We" don't do this. Brian at tbichips.com does it. You could always invest in your own chip burning equipment as well.
Just remember, tbichips.com is not part of thirdgen.org
He will however, help your engine run as close to optimum condition as he can with his chip tuning. The only way to get any closer is to learn how to burn your own chips, so you can fine tune as far as you want.
Where do you get a $50 core charge? That charge is for '93 and newer trucks w/ memcals. The cost for the chip you need should be $30 for the first chip and $10 for any aditional changes or mods.

my gut feeling is that the XE268 will be too much cam witht eh tbi. Id shoot for the XE256H-12 or the XE262H-14. The 256 is the one i want to run with my vortecs. Its pretty much a step above the one i have now.

PS. The 262 and definatly the 268 will cause problems with the stock vortec heads. Youll have to have some work done to them to have the clearences be adiquate.

Both of those cams should work fine. I run a 94 LT1 cam with the stock Vortec springs in my truck with no problems (lift .450/.460)
My machinist checked the clearance and he said it would be good up to .480 lift before they would need to be clearanced.
