heads, or nitrous

the heads on the L03 hold are a huge restriction

and of course nitrous is cheap easy HP, just make sure you don't go lean

gears are going to be the only thing that will help you go faster if youre not going to do anything to the exhaust or engine. There are also small things like tbi spacers, crank pulleys, chips, and stuff like that that will help but not give you too much improvement.

vjo90RS8 is right; If your not doign anything else go with some gearing, then you'll reach your powerband quicker (and get some more *** of your pants kick). You may look into a different air-cleaner, and find some LG4 heads (they're cheap). If you do get the heads, you may look into maybe porting the manifold a little, if its possible (dunno, never looked/tried/cared to).

Then there's all the little things that boost performance:

1. Get your oil changed to a high-quality type.
2. Make sure your ignition is in tip-top shape.
3. Get the car in perfect tuning order.

That should get you some speed

Check the TPS adjustment. If its not set at the right specs, the ecm thinks its at half throttle when you actually have the pedal slammed against the firewall!

the lg4/l69 heads (casting 416) are very easy to port out to flow a fair amount, they are also easy to find and cheap. put a little work into them with a die grinder, and they flow very well.

The LG4 heads have a better port design, and offers a better platform for performance porting.

yes he needs a new intake, best bet is to get a 4bbl intake and adaptor, with the crapp stocker it would be a big restriction, since the heads will flow so much better.

Arn't the 87 and later 305tpi heads the same as the 416's?
I think they carry the same part numbers and have the right bolt patterns.
