I'm pretty sure the stock tbi will bolt right up to the holley intake. If it doesnt then you will have to fab something up.

Don't you mean 1-11/16"?

Yes...

If the bores on the intake are bigger than the ones on the TB, you're OK.

If the bores on the TB are bigger than the bores on the intake, you're still OK, but the engine isn't. :sillylol:

do you people read the post here?????? im looking for a tbi spacer that will have 1 11/16 on the top where the tbi goes, and 2" at the manifold. the reason i want it is because i cant find a 2" bore tbi right now , i dont want the holley. and the 5/16" step between my tbi and intake killed the power, it dirupts the air flow to much and slowes down the air charge.....i didnt ask if it would fit i didnt ask if it would work..... i asked if anyone knows where to get the spacer im looking for????????????????????

First off, loose the attitude. That's certainly no way to get a descent answer.

I don't think one exists. Bust out with a dremel and radius and smooth the bottom of your stock TB, then do the same with the underside of the openings in the intake. Done properly, it will flow great.

OR you could make your own. There's been a few guys on here that have done it. Start a new thread titled "How do I make my own TBI adapter?", or do a search. The majority of the guys that have made them to put a TBI on a carb intake, but the principal idea is the same.

OH... here's another possible option.

Email Holley (or search through their website) and try to get the adapter they give you when you upgrade to their 2" TB.

It's made so the 2" bores will clear the stock 1-11/16" opening and you may be able to just flip it over for the reverse effect.

Maybe someone with who bought the Holley TBI will jump in and tell you if that's possible or not. Or hell, they may even sell you theirs. Try putting an ad in the classified section.

How about doing a test for all of us on this board and put the tb on your manifold without the adapter. Then you can tell us just how much power you acually lost or gained. Later on when you get an adapter you can put it on and give us the new results as well.

also there is not enough metal to bore out the tb to 2" meybe 1 3/4" at most, also holley doesnt sell the throttle linkage you need to make this manifold work so keep that in mind if you ever go to buy it

Actually, I could give a sh*t why you're mad.

But that's always a good reason for you to come off as a total ***. Makes people know you're serious, right?

Did ya ever think dat maybe you could drill an utter hole in da Holley adaptor AFTER ya flip her over, and plug up da one dats alredy dar?

Or dat when I sed to radius da bottom of the stock TB, dat I didn't mean dat it had ta be 2"?

If ya smooth out da edge off da bore at da bottom, it'll take car of da flow problem ya got.

It's like dat Chubbs feller told Happy Gilmore... "It's all in da hips. It's all in da hips." Smooth out da hips of that throttle body ya got.

If ya ain't got no sense enough to figure this out, den ya ain't got no reason to be givin' us no attitude.

I have a 1 11/16ths stock tbi on top of a 2" Holley tbi adaptor and my car runs fine. Do you have heads/cam? If not then you really wont see an improvement over stock with an intake manifold because the stock heads/cam dont need the extra a/f that the intake can flow. And the stock tbi can be bored to 2".

hey chuck yes my car runs fine too but i lost so much bottom end from that i want some of it back now, which if your runnin a 2400 stall you prob wouldnt even notice it, also why do you have a 2" spacer, what kind of intake you runnin also i dont have a spacer, so thats probably why i notice the loss more

well aj i just thought you might like to know that your no better than me, you still havent aswered my question yet. but you sure do like to talk smack though. yes i could radious the bores but then i might have sealing issues with the thin edges of the bores. then with your idea of flipping the spaceris when you flip it over you have to rotate it to line up with the bores. so now all your left with is a few 32nds to put the new bolt hole( not enough for the new bolt) so unless youve done it befor and you can tell me where to get the over sized spacer you might want to chill on the attitude too

and since it seems that no one knows where to get the spacer im probably going to have to have my friend make me one but you know how that goes. i gave him my spare tb a month ago for the ultamate mods, and he just got it into hid cad prog.also he found the drafts from rochester ??? i think. he says that you can only bore the 1 11/16" tb out to 1.75" because some parts of the walls are to thin just in case anybody was wonderin

not to stir the pot but the 1 11/16 to 2 in spacer wont do much for you. Its probably due to the intake your using. The lower port velocities reduce low end throttle responce and torque, to an extent. The size of the bores int he intake make no effect, since each of the bores opens into the chamber below the tbi where each of the runners then carries the intake charge to the cyl. The loss of low end is in no way related to the smaller tbi on the intake. Its the intake your using. I have a similar situation witht eh 1-11/16 tbi except i have an edelbrock performer and witht he old 929 cam, the engine had enough off idle torque to, in addition to flexing the body like a wet noodle, also flex the crappy 10 bolt housing and mangle all the teeth on the ring gear in my rear end so id say your loss of low end probably doesnt have much to do witht he step size of the bores. Some loss of low end torque comes witht eh territory if you use an aftermarket intake or cyl. heads with large runners.

oh, about the adapter, IIRC you can flip it over and use the reverse side but you have to spin the adapter/spacer 180 degrees to maintain the same bolt hole orientation. I rememeber doing this with the 2 in holley tbi adapter i used for my pos carb intake to figure out how i wanted the tbi to sit.

I'm not giving you any attitude. I'm simply returning yours.

All I've tried to do (up until my last thread) is help you in the best of my ability, to do what you want to do. All you've done in return is come up with all these cocky responses.

I said it once, and I'll say it again. There is no adapter that does what you want. Why? Because (as I also said) there's no harm done when the bores of the TBI are smaller than the ones on the intake.

Look at carbs for example. There isn't ONE intake I know of that matches up to the EXACT same size of the bores in the carb. And there would be more of a problem with a carb, if there was a problem at all, simply because it would interfere with the atomization process of a carb more than it would with TBI.

The other suggestions I've made were just to feed your "need" to get what you think will help. One thing I'll never do is tell someone they shouldn't try something unless I DO know 100% that it won't work.

Also, when I said to radius the edges of the bores on the bottom of the TBI, I didn't mean they have to be 2" big, nor 1" up into the bore. All you want to do is smooth them. Kind of like the tops of cylinders, bolt holes, and oil passages in an engine block. You don't want any sharp edges because sharp edges DO cut into gaskets and cause leaks.

It sounds as if you'll get what you need if your friend makes what you want (which is also i.e. what I suggested). If you need to, buy the Holley adapter that I mentioned earlier and use it as a template for your friend to map out what you want. It will make it MUCH easier for him.

Lemme see if I have this right. Badxs buys the wrong part...puts it on anyway...misunderstands why his car now runs worse...fails to realize that the solution he thinks will work won't actually help at all...then trashes the guys trying to offer some advice and suggestions? Ummm..yeah...I think I got it right.
