Why not use a 2 barrel intake manifold?

I was just wondering why nobody uses a 2 barrel intake manifold on their 2 barrel tbi cars? Does a 4 barrel with an adapter simply make more power or what? Wouldn't a 2 barrel work better with a 2 barrel tbi? Can someone please explain this to me? Thanks

The edelbrock performer does not flow as well as its carb style performer brother and it has 1 11/16 bores instead of the 2" bores most people want.

Well, as far as tbi manifolds go, the holley 300-66 projection intaked worked really good for me. I'm guessing a reason more people don't go with a tbi intake is 1) they are much more expensive (it is usually cheaper to by the carb version and an adapter plate) and 2) they are harder to sell if it comes to that point. Also, if you go with a 4bbl manifold, it is much easier to to swap to carb or a four barrel tni later on.
If you are asking why not use a 2bbl carb intake, I would think the main reason would be lack of adapter plates, as well as having many more options for 4bbl intakes

well, they do make adaptor plates for 2bbl carb intakes.

the reason most people go 4bbl is do to plenum volume.

Holley makes adapter plates for TBIs onto other kinds of manifolds

I am running an edelbrock TBI manifold bored to 2". I got the manifold used and had it bored. Total cost ,$250. The benefits are that it is a total bolt on and along with a 454 TB it works very well up to 5,000 rpm.
That said, above 5,000 rpm performance starts to suffer which is probably due to the limitations of the manifold AND the TB unit.
I am thinks of going to a 4 bbl manifold with an adapter and if that doesn help, going to a 4bbl TBI . .............bob
