I believe in injected motors and I got the proof!

I used to run a carb on my L6 but never quite ran well. I changed over to a TBI kit from Howell not too long ago and I tell ya, that Cloud Burst Summit never looked so good! As soon as the 2004R is installed, I'm taking a very long cruise to Mammoth Lakes and test that higher altitude. This was as good as I could get for now since it was only an hour away from Los Angeles. As soon as I got to 5,000' I did begin to notice a slight drop in power. I understand from the thinner air. At 6,000' something strange happened....I could only describe it as a compressor loosing a quick burst of air. I heard like a swoosh sound and naturally I let go of the gas pedal, but I noticed that the engine did not bog, it just swooshed......so I figured I would keep going. It never happened again. It rolled great all the way up to 7,000'......I cruised up there for a while and it never happened again, even on the descend. Weird hometowns....

As far as the Holley carb, I never could get past 5,000' before all hell broke loose. Forget about changing those jets....INJECTION!

Just my 2¢.......CHEVYTOWN

63 C10, last year of the wrap araound window.

I call 'em FRANKENSTEIN....FRANKY for short.....It has a 250cid with some mods. I was trying to post the movie I had of the truck on idle. But not sure how to do it. Anyone know how --it's a Mac file and ends with .MOV

Some verga deleted my message.

Hey bro, Is yours a fleet/stepside and is that olds powerplant stroked or bored......On a side note, I heard about those rear ends from the 50's 60's from Olds that are a bit bigger than the 9". I heard stronger too, and why I don't hear about those rear ends in magazines is fudged up man....I'm searching for one, anyone have any tricks?

If inline wasn't in my blood, I'd stuff one of them big block Caddy's in me truck. I hear they got gobs of torque. Just perfect for the street. However, the L6 has plenty of torque on tap and is too easy to work on, so I'm firme where am at.......I'm not racing so it awesome for the street/highway....I get my V8 kicks when I am in my brother's 67 nova with a 350/glide combo....too sweet man!

Later HOMETOWN....and long live the GENERAL MOTORS GANG!
