Rear Shock Torque
Searched the web, the forum, and my service manual without any results. What should be the torque of the nut on the opposite side of the axle connection? Circled on the pic. Thanks.

That should be part of the same stack up at number three in the picture. As indicated, it should be 70 ft lbs. Maybe I don't understand what you are asking.

It's the nut that holds the shock to the support, but it doesn't appear to able to sustain 70 ft lbs because it's smaller. Better pic

There is no torque spec for that because the OE shock had that part of the mount permanently swedged to the bushing.
On that aftermarket (looks like a Delco) shock you are working on, just tighten it until it bottoms out on the sleeve, then just tighten it real nice and tight. You won't strip it unless you're being reckless.
