Idler arm pitman arm lenth?
I working on my steering and I notice the drag link looks slightly not in proportion. It seems where the right tie rod mounts is slighty back compaired to the left side. So I look at the pitman arm compaired to the idler arm and mine are not equel lenth. The pitman is 6.5 inchs and the idler is 6.25 so it seems GM altered the drag link to make it run square with the crossmember. Is my car weird or has anyone else noticed this.

Well I will have to crawl under my car to answer this one, and I am an old man. Maybe someone will post the answer before I check my car.

Sounds strange to me but i have never investigated that issue. I know that there is an alignment procedure for the center(drag)link. It involves adjusting the height from right to left. These heights must be equal and are adjusted by moving the idler arm up or down using the slotted holes in the idler arm. Not sure about fore and aft alignment of the center link.
