They forgot to test car before the upgrades so I'm not sure what to make of it. Other than the 3rd handles better than the 5th gen, which we already knew.

Too bad there are far better products out there that should get the spotlight over these. Polyurethane and 600lb spring rates? Too big of a rear sway bar as well in my opinion.
I'm not putting down the post, I enjoy reading these types of articles in magazines, it's just I think they are a bit off the mark with some of the stuff they used. Thanks for sharing

That was what I was wondering. The car probably handles well on a race track or auto cross circuit. I wonder how the ride on the street is?
I liked the article and I am glad they used a thirdgen. Our cars specialty is road holding and handling. Even by todays standards thirdgens can hold there own against other more modern cars.

Problem is that Hotchkis (a major advertiser) gave them the parts to put on the car at no charge, making it a no-brainer for the magazine.
This is how I would have done the buildup and test:
1) Stock as is
2) With 275-40-17 tires
3) #2 with chassis upgrades - weld in subframes, RCA, panhard rod, TQ arm, sway bar endlinks & poly bushings, STB...
4) #3 with springs, struts, shocks, alignment
I would have loved to see them put on QA1 or Koni DA dampers and Global West parts instead of the Hotchkis. Improvement yes... Optimal definitely not.
