Clunk in rear of vehicle at lower speeds
my car was clunking for about a month and i had some time to get underneath and check it out. i found three bolts that were loose going into the unibody. its the bar that goes from the right rear axle to the driverside unibody above what i believe is the panhard bar and below the gas tank. a heat shield is tack welded to this bar (flat sheet metal on driver side and turns tubular and the end has a bushing on the passenger side where it goes into the axle. when i tried tightening the 3 bolts that are in a triangle that hold the flat end to the driver side unibody they just keep spinning. is there anyway to fix this without welding? it looks like the nuts welded in the unibody are stripped or spinning. anyone know what this is called, it is the bar between the panhard bar and gas tank. i hope its safe to drive like this untill it is fixed, looks like the panhard bar would help keep the axle from moving but it is making alot of noise at slower manuvers. anyone else tackle this problem yet?
