Coilovers or stiffer springs

Coilovers or stiffer springs
Hey i have an 83 camaro with a 72 350 carburated camaro small block drop in. The engin cross member is extremely low to the ground and every bumb i hit seems to beet up that cross member more and more. Would not be able to lower any more, so lowing springs out of the question.
Any ways i have bought all new moog parts for the steering/suspension, but i have come to a halt when it comes to eather paying the price for coil overs or stiffer springs.
Only coilovers i seem to find are pro-touring and pro-drag. All online sights. Dont know much about them and are decently high in price. But coil overs period would give me a way stiffer front end and i would not need to buy a strut serperate.
On the spring side i can order moog oem springs would be better then my old worren springs. Or even performance springs from mopac based on the size and stiffness but in the end with struts i would be paying a few hundred less then for a set of coilovers.
Needing some opinions from people who have eather or on their car and how it's working out for them. Also wondering what others have done to beef up there front to stop any bounce.

Your 30 year old springs are probably worn out and sagged. Install some new springs.

Yup; just get new springs. You'll be amazed.
Look at Moog 5662 or 5664.

if you're looking just to get back to stock, gonna second (or third?) the Moogs; not expensive and do the job. These cars aren't set up for coilovers, so the only other good option is weight jacks.

Perfect thats all i needed to hear haha. Ill save the money and throw in a new pair of moog springs.
Also how much do struts really effect front end suspension should i be looking into a good set or just oem will do?

Re: Coilovers or stiffer springs
The struts are really just a shock but also maintain some steering geometry by holding and positioning the top of the spindle. When you have the springs out, you can test to see how well the shock is. The strut doesn't support much weight, if any. The weight of the car is supported by the spring. Like everything else, shocks/struts don't last forever and yours are getting old.
