road race setup

Hey there, I recently aquired an 86 firebird that I'm going to build for a road course. My question is how would you recommend the suspension set up? I am going to be running a big block olds motor so I'll need heavy duty front springs. I was thinking kyb shocks, front and rear sway bars, sub frame connectors, stock height springs, boxed lower rear control arms, strut tower brace and all new suspension bushings (del a lum) What do you think? I am open to suggestions. Also I want to run 17x9.5 front and 17x11 rear torque thrust IIs with 255s front and 275s rear. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

A couple of issues I see.

1. BB Olds can't be a light engine. I would recommend a built SBC or LS motor.
2. 9.5" front, 11" rear wheels. These cars handle best with equal size wheels. For strictly a race car I would recommend 10-10.5" wheels front and rear. For a street car 9.5" front and rear would work better as you will not lose any steering angle.
3. 255 on a 9.5" or 275 on a 11" rim is to small of a tire. A normal sized tire for a 9.5 rim would be a 275 and for 11 would be a 305-315 tire.

Is this a race only car?

No, it will also be a street car and highway cruiser. Also a stock olds 455 with accessories is only 620 lbs and a small block chevy is 575. If I use an aluminum intake on the olds that evens it out to the chev.
