Air Ride?
So, I was surfing around YouTube for Camaro videos and such and I came across this one video. This guy went through his car, put in a 'Vette engine, and threw it all on air ride. My question is, what are Pros and Cons, of air ride, and do they make some kind of kit for Third gens?

Pro's of air ride- Softer ride, adjustable ride height, possible handling gain
Cons-Price, Airleaks, Bulk of compressor/tank ect. For a quality kit your looking at around $2k. Ebay had some kits. Dunno if i'd use it. Theres a guy on here that has one on his sharp Black Camaro. Do a search

It's the new hydraulics. I say go for it for show cars or anything besides a daily driver. As mentioned they can cause real headaches when you get a line leak, a popped bag, and not practical when you have less hatch room for the tank compressors and valves because there's not much room under the car for that. The compressors are loud. The wiring to such a power draw can drain a battery and cause a no start in real cold weather if you're not careful. the changes in pinion angle can wear out u joints and cause vibrations.
So not my choice on my daily driver but you can't beat the looks and cool factor. There's been some argument on handling being superior if done right, but compared to stock yes... Compared to what else is debatable.

So, what are some upgrades that will make my car handle significantly better? I'm not sure if you guys have this problem but my car pushes like crazy in corners.

Check this section of the board, but I'll answer the basic starters. Get subframe connectors, aftermarket lower control arms for the rear and maybe the panhard bar and torque arm. Rear should be good and under control after that. Then in front replace your worn steering stuff with new. New poly bushings for control arms and sway bars. Performance struts and shocks, new strut mounts and a strut tower brace. That's going to be alot of money, but cover all your bases with entry level handling. Next step would be all tubular suspension pieces, tuned springs maybe even coilovers, different style bushings, larger sway bars, quick ratio steering gearbox or rack and pinion with new k member. Adjustable rear suspension pieces, all this leads to performance wheels tires brakes etc... And you then have a race car

Sounds good to me, I do plan on putting some money into the suspension mainly because it's ALL worn from sitting for 10 years...

Air Ride suspension makes a good kit for our cars. 3 gal tank is all you need.
Kandied91Z and Sickness both have air ride in their Camaro's. Sickness has a build thread with a video showing the air ride working.
I believe Kandied's car was used as a test car for Air Ride's system.
I like the fact that the system can be programmed with three different height settings. Maybe stock height for shopping mall entrances, 1" drop for driving and a 2" drop for shows.

Yes they built the kit off of my car back in late 2003. i've had two other thirdgens since with air and my candy red 91 currently still sits on the same kit now with over 50,000 road tested miles working perfectly. It's the best modification i've ever done and the most fun whether cruising with the built ls7 or pulling up to a show and remotely slamming the car to the ground. I can't stress enough anyone considering it as long as it's installed correctly to jump in as it's fun stuff..
