front end alignment

ok, I think this might have to deal with my front end. let me explain the situation. I went down to Sears yesterday because thats where I bought my tire, I already new the tires were nearly bald in the center but the corners still had quite a bit of tread on them. well, I had a slight leak in the left front so I had them fix if under warranty. when I came back to pick up my car, the guy told me that he shouldnt have even put the tire back on because it was worn out. he went on to try to explain to me that these were 50 series tires and the inside wearing down faster was a trait inherent to them. I said ok and moved on, highly suspicious. then he took me out to my car, and showed me what had been the inside edge and how it was worn down, but the other side and the other tire wasnt. the tires had a 40k mile warranty on them and I only have 15K miles on them, so I should have gotten some new tires for atleast half off, but he tried to tell me that since this was a mechanical problem and not just sh*tty tires, I have to buy a brand new fricken tire! plus 2 more to replce the other 2 since I just replaced the right rear with a new one this weeknd. DONT GO TO SEARS!!! Their supposed "road hazard" warranty is complete trash. anyway, so is this in fact an alignment problem or just stupid auto center guy?

Alignment problem will wear the inside OR the outside of the tire. Sometimes the whole tire. But never just the center. Premature center wear is overinflation. Probably running the tires at the max rated pressure on the sidewall instead of the proper pressure.

I second that, treadwear in the center is caused by 1.)overinflation or 2.) burnouts which is N/A on the front wheels since they are not the drive wheels. Cant you jest tell the guy to put the same tires back on? You are'nt required to buy anything if you don't want to.

Roadhazard is a big money maker. Its a pro-rated deal which means with more wear on the tire, the less they give. It doesnt start fropm 100% either. Meaning, if you put 1000 miles on a 50,000 mile tire, your not going to get 95% of the price you paid. Dont waste your money.
