Who makes the best lca relocation brackets?

No question about it the Global west units are the best. The fit and finish are number one. The only thing bad about them is the price.

I can't see what's so special about the Global West ones that makes them almost twice the price of Spohn's.

Spohn's have nothing to locate them on the axle, so when you install them they can swing back and forth. Global West's have a mounting pad on the inside that locks them to the axle. I made my own based on GW's design.

Ummm, DUH!..

Yer supposed to WELD the Spohn brackets on.

The only ones I've seen that can just be bolted on, and yet still aren't a safety hazard, are the BMR ones. (they do make a weld-on only set.)

The difference is the bolt-on ones have an "ear" that slips on the rear shock mounts for bracing.

Even with these, I'd only use them in mild-modification applications. If yer sportin' big power, WELD that thing on there...

Just FYI:

This is on the Spohn website, AND on the directions that were in the box my brackets came in...

"Must be welded into place. All Grade 8 hardware is included. Since the brackets must be welded in place, we ship them bare. Welding in LCA Relocation Brackets are the only SAFE and EFFECTIVE way to install them."

Absolutely must be welded for safety. As long as the material is strong enough, the brand doesn't matter.

------------------
350 with stealth intake, holley carb, 470 lift cam. 700r4 with .5 boost valve, vette servo, tci lock-up kit, B&M megashifter. Richmond 3.73 gears, powertrax locker, timkin bearings, synthetic lube. Custom 3 inch single into 2 2.5 pipes. 1 1/2 drop springs, 1 5/16 solid front sway bar, 1 inch rear bar, custom subframe connectors, custom LCA relocation brackets. Kobel ground FX, currant red metallic paint. Lots of other stuff...

Well no kidding they have to be welded. But I said "when you install them", meaning you put them into place before you weld them, how do you know if you have them in the right place before you start welding?

They are lazer cut and fit snuggly along the original mounts on the rear-end. Also, the holes are drilled so you can use stock length LCA's. Since this is the case, before you tighten the bolts when you bolt them on, just swing up the LCA, and it lines up perfectly. The GW's are nice, but at their price, I feel like Spohn are a better value and will yeild the same results.
