Isolator (insulator) replacement

I just wanted to let everyone know that I have recently replaced my isolators with the ones from Energy suspension. They fit just fine. I placed them on top of the springs and zip tied them there, you can also use electrical tape. Also, for the bottoms of the springs, I used heater hose. I had some trouble getting a 10" piece of heater hose on there, but the trick was to cut them into about 2" pieces to allow them to get around the springs.

9.6101 for the fronts
9.6120 for the rears

Just curious about why you put hose on the bottoms of the springs?

Re: Isolator (insulator) replacement

James,

I added the heater hose to the bottom of the springs in front and rear to prevent and unwanted squeeking. It may barely raise the car up 1/8". Also, if you check out the specs on the part numbers I listed, you can use these isolators to help level the car. Some people may be sitting too low in the rear, well using the 9.6120 will bring them up about 1/4" and use the heater hose to bring it up a little more. The car sits good now.

First thing I did was replace the stock struts and shocks with some KYB GR2's and it raised the car up about 2". Yes, thats how bad they were with the originals. I installed HyperCo drop springs on the car as well.
