Yokohama or BF Goodrich???

Okay, sorry for the redundant tire questions...
I have a choice of Yokohama Avid S/T, and BF Goodrich Radial T/A's. Which would you all buy if you had to choose?

The size tire I'm looking for are 245/60R15

are you going just for looks and price or are you looking for a semi-performance tire? I know when I got mine, I got Yokahama A540s and the simply suck *** . I drag race and autocross, on the street, they spin like crazy with stock gears, on the track, they slide around the turns with no grip. next time Ill spend the extra money for the good tires instead of pieces of ####

We have a full set of BFG Radial TA's on our car.
I really like them.
They are considered a harder tire compaired to Eagle type tires, but then again Eagles are more expensive.

Softer tread will give you bretter grab all around, cost you more, and you'll go through the tires quicker.

Harder tread won't give you the performance of a softer tire, but is cheaper, and will last longer.

All of the above mainly depends on your driving style as well.

I've been using the radial TA's for over ten years and have never had a problem with them.
They do tend to let loose on wet roads if you gas it too hard from a dead stop, but then most tires will do that.

I've had a set of Yokomama's and did not like them. They wore down too quickly for me. I wound up going back to the TA's.

Plus you could get a G-Tech which is a $140 value.
Even if you don't like the G-tech you could sell it on ebay and recoup some of your money on the tires.

Either way you get a proven set of tires and a new toy or a discount if you sell the G-tech.

Can't go wrong in my book.

91 Mystic Teal RS Convertible. 305 TBI, Auto, stock.
125,000 miles and still going strong.
Only minor mods planned for the near future.
Like headers, flowmaster exhaust, some ignition mods, K&N airfilter, Perhaps a chip if needed.
Waiting for the motor to blow up so I can install a ZZ4 crate motor. Let's just hope it don't blow up too soon.

I had the radial TA 245/60's for a while on my 82. They looked good and lasted a quite a while(for me anyway), but the traction wasn't very good. Wal-mart has a BFG excentia GT tire that is similiar to the radial TA. Seems to have the same tread compound. If you looking for a long lasting tire.

Custom 3 inch single into 2 2.5 pipes. 1 1/2 drop springs, 1 5/16 solid front sway bar, 1 inch rear bar, custom subframe connectors, custom LCA relocation brackets. Kobel ground FX, current red metallic paint. Lots of other stuff...

Thanks for the info guys. I did see the G-Tech going with the four tires, but it's only for H, V, and Z rated tires I believe. I know it's not going with the S rated Radial T/A.
