Re: steering box

Is there a noticeable issue with it? The boxes that came in these cars were tight to begin with.. I mean.. less than 1/2 turn for a 90 degree turnoff is a good box. I understand the desire to replace everything with "aftermarket", but in many cases, the engineers DID know what they were doing. Were it me (and it will be shortly, I'm sure) I'd just go over it and make sure everything is tight and functioning right, and leave it at that. Long as it makes the wheels go right and left, and doesn't whine or howl, why mess with it?

Re: steering box

I'll have to disagree... My stock box was in very good shape, but I ventured out and payed big bucks for a more precise, "tighter"box with better road feel, that is lighter in weight. It is worn in now and feels GREAT. Better than stock. Lee Performance 670 box is what I have. Fits good, no issues except notching it a bit to get it in, but that's about it. Most aftermarket boxes are crap though so be careful... The stockers were good enough IMO but if you're really crazy about suspension then yes, there is "better", but worth the cost? That is up to you... I paid around 550$ for mine..
