steering box rebuild
Anyone ever took the top plate off their steering box? I got the ring out that I figured held it down, but it still wont come out. To make it short I stripped the bolt so I'm trying to take it out and fix it, but the bolt just keeps turning now and won't come out. Please help. Thanks.

considering the importance of the box i'd spend 125 dollars or so and buy a rebuilt one. or for 50 dollars plus shipping i'd sell you the one off my 85. never drove it so no idea about condition so i'd give a money back promiss with it (for what that's worth).

Yeah thanks, I've decided to buy a used one. Couldnt find it in the wreckers though. Apparently I need a 80 or older one with standard threads, and it has the round top not the square one with the 4 bolts.
