Better shocks and struts: KYB or Koni
I need new shocks and struts and can't afford $220 each for Bilstein, so I have to go with the second best, which I heard from two different sources was KYB and Koni. So which is?

Well, second best SURE isn't Koni. Koni Yellows are the best shocks you can buy, hands down, and they have a price of the best shock you can buy too.
If you can't afford Bilsteins, you can't afford the more expensive and better Koni. I'd say KYB is what you're looking for.

Well just how much are Koni's, for front and for rear. Are they priced by each or by pair? If they are better than Bilstein and more expensive then they have to be like $225 each. That's too much. I'll stay with bumps and squeeks if its that much for shocks and struts.

I just put Konis on my GTA...set of 4 was $479 w/shipping from Shox.com. By the way...they are an outstanding product. Glad I didn't cheap out here. Unlike engine mods that you only appreciate when you get on it, suspension mods are something you live with every second you drive your car.

Eat, check out www.shox.com. They will send you a quote on what you're looking for and the prices of everybody else you mentioned. I was rather impressed with their prices, especially on Eibach springs. Also, for KYB, check out Summit and Tirerack. They have great prices, cheapest I've seen.

www.ws6.com has a group purchase page. I got all 4 high performance valved Bilstiens for $400! The $377 listed is for the 4th gens but they ARE doing an ongoing GP for 3rd gen guys too.
So get THEM!!!!
They also have the LOWEST price for the eibach springs which I also got.

www.shox.com is the GP company on www.ws6.com
And yes, Koni's are the best shock, then Bilstein's, and then KYB's.

I COULD'NT RESIST POPPING IN AND GIVING MY OPINION ON ALL THESE HIGH DOLLAR SUSPENSION COMPONANTS, SINCE I HAVE MOST OF THEM AND AM NOW SELLING THEM. HERE IS MY SET-UP:
KONI YELLOW'S ALL FOUR
HERB ADAMS HEIM JOINTED SWAY BARS (HUGE AND HEAVY)
STOCK IROC SPRINGS
BOXED LCA AND PANHARD W/POLY BUSHINGS
POLY A ARM BUSHINGS UP FRONT
255/50/16 TIRES ON 16X8 RIMS
THIS SET-UP IS TEARING MY TEETH OUT! TOO HARSH! I PUT IN STANDARD V8 SPRINGS UP FRONT WHICH HELPED ALITTLE,BUT STILL TOO STIFF.MY NEXT IDEA WILL BE TO USE GAS STRUTS AND SHOCKS (NON-ADJUSTABLE) HOPING TO GET SOFTER. THE BODY ROLE IN CORNERS WON'T BE A PROBLEM BECAUSE OF MY CHOICE OF SWAY BARS. THE SOFTER SPRINGS AND STRUTS WILL ALLOW THE TIRES TO FOLLOW ROAD IRREGULARIES W/O THE HARSH JOLT. IF SOMEONE THINKS I'M GOING IN THE WRONG DIRECTION, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. ALSO, WITH THE KONI'S SET ON SOFT THEY ARE WAY FIRM I CAN'T EVEN GET THE FENDER TO MOVE WHEN I BOUNCE ON IT AND THAT IS WITH THE SOFTER SPRING. WHO'S GOT THE KONI YELLOW'S? HELP ME W/SOME ADVISE OTHERWISE, YOUL'L SEE THESE FOR SALE ON THE BOARD!

BTW, Summit will match Shox's price. Just tell them what shox had them for and they will say no problem. I had never heard of shox before I started searching for prices on my koni yellows. They were the lowest but I was not comfortable ordering from someone I had never heard of before. That was about a year ago. I love the firm ride of my yellow's.

I've had my Konis for over 12 years and they are STILL set to thier softest setting. They act like they're still new. Buy Konis and forget about replacing your shocks almost forever! Or unless you bend one in a accident...
