BMR Featured on HorsePower TV on Spike Channel This Weekend!!

HorsePower TV will be featuring the chassis and suspension products of BMR Fabrication this Saturday and Sunday. Joe and Mike will be installing BMR products on their ’98 Camaro as they build a champion autocross performer.

They will be installing the following BMR products :
  • LS1 K-member
  • Upper A-arms
  • Lower A-arms
  • Sub Frame Connectors
  • Manual Steering Kit
  • Torque Arm Relocation Bracket
  • Torque Arm
  • Lower Control Arms
  • Panhard Bar
The show airs at 11:30am Eastern time on Saturday and 11:30am Eastern time on Sunday.

A 4th Gen Camaro has the same rear suspension as a 3rd gen, so there should be some good info here for Thirdgen.org members!!

They welded on the subframe connectors with no weight on the shell on a lift, I though they had to be welded on with all the weight on the chassis?

There are several ways to go about it, but once you weld in the SFC's the chassis will be in that shape permanently.

This thread has a lot of info on the subject of SFC installs:

They explained that on the show. Since they had pulled the entire drive-train and suspension, they were able to put the body on the lift and install the SFC's.

Joe made a point of saying that otherwise, the car needs to be lifted by the wheels so the full weight is on the suspension.

"...As they build a champion autocross performer"

Yeah right.

Media hype. I do not see any documents showing this car remotely close to a autocross "CHAMPION".

Especially with air ride crap and the crap shocks that go with it.

Its all about big name companies with big dollar media coverage doing the old race on sunday sell on monday. I want to see later eposides of this car running with actual DOCUMENTED time slips of the full list of cars running that day for comparison....Otherwise, shut the bull about building an autox CHAMPION.

Horsepower TV approached BMR about this project. We did not pay them to be involved. They selected us because we make bad *** suspension parts. After all, our customers have won more races than any other 3rd gen or 4th gen suspension company. More drag racing than autocross, but there are more drag racers out there.

BMR does more 3rd gen media projects than any other suspension company. We don't pay for any of them. The Camaro Performers 3rd gen uses BMR products. We are doing a 3rd gen project with Muscle Car Power magazine. GM High Tech recently did a complete front/rear suspension using BMR product.

Here are my thoughts: The media is so focused on the 2010 Camaro, 2011 Mustang, and Challenger that we should be happy when a big name media company decides to do a project on a 3rd gen or 4th gen. They read these boards. If the 3rd gen crowd gets a bad reputation, then media companies will ignore this car and the manufacturers will stop developing new products for the 3rd gen. I don't think that benefits anybody. Just my .02
