Air Bags or Air Shocks?

basicly within the next year i will be putting a 9" in my car with coil overs so this is a temp solution, the whole problem i have here is when i launch my tires rub my fenders, so i thought of the cheapest way to make it stop for now, my first thought would be air shocks, has anyone used them? pros? cons? dangers when put to high power levels? and second is the air bag, this seems more likely of a solution since it will auctually stiffen up the ride and i can vary right to left i know shocks can do the same but for some reason this makes more sence in my head, again same questions here, anyone use them? pros? cons? dangers? and again this is just a temp solution so i dont want to hear everyone saying just buy coil overs sonce i am in the future, thanks

Re: Air Bags or Air Shocks?

air bags, drag bags, are commonly used to help preload the springs for racing. If you are still using stock rear springs, they are pretty soft, and if they are origional, they are about beat.

forget the air shocks, unless you reinforce the upper shock mount, the shock will damage it. the air shocks will put all the load of the car on the upper mounts, which are not made for that kind of use. Similar to the coil-overs, you need a reinforcement plate for the top mount.

Ok so then air shocks are out, didn't think of the stress

as for the air bags, there not the drag bags, it's two bags under there, and I have moog +1" springs under there, there used but not beat, are the regular moog factory style stiffer?
