Re: wheel hop

Most likely a combination of all the above. The 3rd gen rear suspension is fairly resistant to wheel hop. I would start by looking for worn bushings or shocks. Torgue arm mount to the rear of the trans may be worn or missing. Sway bar end links, is one broken? Sway bar or shocks would be the two things I would check first. If youre running big power, you might consider boxed trailing arms and a good panhard bar. Hotchkis makes a good set.

Re: wheel hop

some aftermarket LCAs and relocation brackets should fix it. if the car is lowered that would make it worse.

Re: wheel hop

I had real bad wheel hop when spinning from a roll. After boxing the stock arms its all gone. I do have an aftermarket torque arm too but I have always had that. One day I'm going to get nicer LCA's, but for now boxing them worked.

Re: wheel hop

ya it is lowerd and has stiffer shocks not running crazy power around 330 or so , but the tourque are is hooked up right with the bushing and my sway bar has good bushing but i guess im am going to have to look into boxed arms. thanks for the help

Re: wheel hop

Hello
I noticed that you are having wheel hoping issues. And like mentioned above it it comes a lot from your LCA. Not only being a flimsy stamped piece (even if you box them you are now dealing with shot rubber bushing). If you are looking to replace them I would suggest looking into a solid tubular set if grease able bushings. And a set of relocation brackets will elimanate the problem as well. Allowing you to possition the control arm that is parrallel to the surface and therefore increases your traction performance and eliminates wheel hop. Below is a link to show you what all UMI Performance has to offer!

If you have any other questions feel free to ask.
Thanks

Re: wheel hop

I run 480hp, an Eibach, Hotchkis, SSM chassis. Lowered 2''. I have installed relocation brackets but never had wheel hop before that, do notice an improvement in traction with the brackets. I would definitely go with good LCAs, brackets & panhard bar. I run hotchkis, whos rectangular tube LCAs are definitely the stiffest. Though I notice some manufacturers offering adjustable panhard bars, my Hotchkis bar isnt. I'll be switching to adjustable panhard bar at some point. Just more money
