Brakes are WAAAY too soft.....
I have a 85 Trans Am with WS6, 4 wheel disk brakes.... I changed the front pads almost a year ago, and checked them last month when I got new tires... the rear pads are ok, will probably last another year (I average about 8k a year on the car). Anyway... the ol' lady's 97 Escort has brakes that will stop an aircraft carrier.
You know how when you are sitting there at a stoplight and let off the brake, the car creeps forward but when you hit the brake the car jolts to a stop?? Not so in the TA... soft as all hell, and I don't even know where to start... any suggestions? Thanks

The old fluid may be contaminated or just not bled properly. I would flush out all the old fluid, if it has never been changed, and then bleed the system thouroughly. If this does not take care of the prob. check the master cylinder, too much free play in then pedal could signal a worn-out cylinder.

Car: 1999 Chevy Cavalier
Engine: 2.2
Transmission: 5 speed
Axle/Gears: it's part of the transmission
how do you properly flush the old fluid???
i.e. is it pad to pump the brakes dry?
I can never bleed brakes right anyways.
