Help I'm trying to remove the lower shock nut from the rearend and its stripped and just turns without getting any looser or tighter. Has anyone had any sucess wih a nut splitter, or any other good ideas.

Is it possible to get a hacksaw blade between the nut and the mount so you can cut the bolt? The nut is not stripped ,the inside threads of the nut are?

Are you sure the nut is stripped? If you are not using an air impact driver to remove this nut, what happens is the lower shock bolt is not "hard" mounted to the shock. It's in a bushing. If you get it slightly loose it will just start to spin. This is due to the fact that the nut is a lock type (normally "top lock" type). On most shocks, in between the shock and bracket, you should see part of the stud going into the shock bushing. There should be a couple of flat spots on it. This allows you to put a wrench on it to keep it from spinning. Check that out first. If not, then yes I have had good luck with nut spliters. You should not have to do that though. See what you got. I just removed those a few weeks ago. I used an impact and it worked with no problem. It seems like its all screwed up because the other end moves with it, but it will eventually come. Im not sure about doing it by hand though, maybe try to get a wrench on the end like mike says.
Good luck
