my bolts is frozen! lol hekp me!
So im doing new spindles because of some issues i have had along with a whole suspension/steering rebuild on the front end and tonight i pulled everything and went to pull the spindle and the bolts going through the back of the spindle and through the strut are frozen/siezed...any ideas ? help etc ?
already sledged it pried it etc etc also used tons of rust breaker spray stuffs and the damn things wont come out, getting close to tempted to just cut off the mounts on the strut since i am replacing them as well.
any help or comments are very much appreciated !
thanks
Brad

try using leverage. like get the right socket and ratchet that u need on the bolt then use a deep socket that just fits over the end of the ratchet and add a few extentions.. if the bolt breaks then it breaks like u said u were ganna replace the mounts anyway right.. at least this way u dont gatta cut anything and u might be able to get the bolts out

the bolts arent 'bolted' into anything was my point the spindle is not threaded, the nuts on the outside were kinda tough to get out but 200ftlbs sounds right, idk i guess ill get the torch or the cutter out tomorrow and see what i cant do

Now I understand, I don't think we realized you already got the nuts off, but couldn't get the bolts out, am I right?
If so, try jacking up the A-arm to take pressure off the bolts.

Heat em up red hot, then put some torque on them, they'll come off....

You mentioned replacing both the struts and the spindles. In this case I woudn't bother with the strut to spindle bolts. Just leave them and remove the two parts together.
The four bolts, washers, and nuts need to be replaced anyway. In the later years they are TTY bolts. Not sure about the earlier stuff. Either way just get new ones (check Spohn, about $20 + ship).

Yeah so i havent got to cutting the spindle out yet but i have some more devolpments, and they are pretty negative.
The car was taken pretty bad care of evidently.
The tie rod end and bolt underneath the spindle are both frozen as well, weeee
I believe the Struts are OEM
Pretty sure im going to end up cutting the crap out etc as i stated i have new everything for the front end suspension/steering/chasis thanks for the input if anyone has anymore 411 or $.02 please feel free!!
