impala ss wheels
ive been considering these wheels for a while.
not sure how it would look, but ive seen these wheels in person, and they look pretty tough
any ideas?
i would need adapters because they are 5 on 5 bolt pattern, but with 8.5" wide wheels, it would be ok.

Re: impala ss wheels
There was a guy around UCF that had impala ss wheels on his black RS.
They look almost like they could have come from the factory that way... you know, except for the impala logo on the center caps.

Re: impala ss wheels
you wouldnt happen to know who would you?
i wish they were 17" but you cant have it all
im not a fan of some of the flashy wheels people put on their cars these days.
i wish someone made an affordable 9" wide, 16 or 17" wheel in our backspacing

Re: impala ss wheels
I found me a set of the 17" x 9", older, no longer made, ROH Snypers.....Direct fit, no adapters needed.
Look around & you can sometimes find those for sale.

Re: impala ss wheels
Skulte sales the 3rd gen offset ROHs ZS wheels, $247 per wheel for 17x9.5 and $206 for 17x8.5s. Personally, I prefer the Snypers lol.

Re: impala ss wheels
yeah, me too.
i know, which is why i want them
i dont think it would be easy to do though.
i would have to either re-drill my axles, or get a super expensive adapter.
94-96 Impala SS wheels are 17x8.5 with 5in backspace

Re: impala ss wheels
Besides....Why have the 5 extra (old ) holes that are no longer needed (nor used anymore)?

Re: impala ss wheels
Never needed to. I buy wheels that fit right the first time, so I don't hafta buy the wheels, then pay more to make them fit. That includes spacers or adapters.

Re: impala ss wheels
im going to agree with stephen here.
fox body mustangs came with re drilled axles from the factory.
ford decided that it would be cheaper and fit the needs of the (stock) car to loose one lug bolt, so they re drilled them for 4 lugs, then welded the old holes shut.
its a common mod to then re drill the axles for 5 lugs...
its actually a very common thing.
i wouldnt trust re drilled wheels.
if you look, there is a lot of metal surrounding the lug holes
in the spaces between, there is a big hollowed out space on the back of the wheel.
not safe IMO.

Re: impala ss wheels
well its not my cup of tea, lets just say.
if you do it correctly, then its fine i guess, but those spacers are big bucks

Re: impala ss wheels
If you're still looking at the Impala wheels, I've got a set of 5x4.75" hub to 5.5" wheel adapters that were machined machined for the wrong vehicle, and would sell for half price - PM or email me if you're interested. They're a bit on the thicker side for this application - 1 pair is 2" and the other pair is 2.25", but would give it an aggressive stance. Not sure of the Impala offset, or if the 8.5" wide wheels would be fully tucked in the fenders, so you would have to measure that (or back calculate it).
