I'm guessing you mean you're looking for an idler arm. There is nothing to wear on a pitman arm unless it just completely broke.

Re: pitman arms..cant find them
Pitman arm is attached to the steering box. Idler arm is mounted on the other side of the car.
Pitman arm is a non wearable item. Only time it needs to be replaced is if it's damaged (bent or broken) in an accident. It's just a chunk of steel.
Who keeps telling all these third gen owners that they have a worn out pitman arm?

Re: pitman arms..cant find them
You need to find another tech teacher.
Think about this statement from your first post: "I called all the local autoparts stores and they say that their diagram of my camaro doesnt show a pitman arm."
Why do you think they don't have them listed?
Because there is no wear joint in the 3rd gen pitman arm. It is a piece of metal with a tapered hole at each end. To get another one hit the classifieds here or hit a junk yard.
Otherwise replace the center link, idler arm, the 4 tie-rod ends, and the rag joint.
RBob.

Re: pitman arms..cant find them
I have an extra one, but I can pretty much guarantee you don't need it. There is nothing to wear (as others have said). What does wear, especially on cars with fat tires, is the pitman shaft bearing in the steering box. For most people that would mean a rebuilt box.

Re: pitman arms..cant find them
They only way it could wear is if it wasn't tightened onto the steering box which I could highly doubt. You always need a puller to take it off.
If the center link tapered end wasn't tight into the other end, maybe the hole would become elongated. I doubt that would happen either. The steering would be so loose the car would be undriveable.

My wheels do the same thing, lots of play but tight tie rods and center link. My steering box is hosed so I am shopping for a new one
