Not our Panhard...

Based on the bushings and grease fittings as well as the color of red used that is NOT a UMI panhard bar...

If I had a make a brand guess that is a BMR panhard bar... and it appears it was damaged in shipping if you just received. It could have got smashed really hard in a wedge or something? Or the seller scammed you? Just a few guesses..

That's bent...I hope you paid via Paypal & can file a dispute.

The UMI bars are 100% STRAIGHT, no bends.

Wow that thing is really tweaked. I dont think thats a UMI Panhard Bar tho, thats thats not the color red they use and their bushings dont look like that. I hope you get your money back, the nerve of someone to sell an unusable part. I doubt it was bent in the shipping process, it would take alot to bend a Panhard Bar, and from the pic of the box it came in the box looks fine and not damaged.

Looks like someone tied a tow strap to it. Was car pulled out of a ditch?

Re: Bent UMI panhard bar? pic inside

Heres a pic of the adjuster,,, I talked to a buddy of mine who is an iron worker and car enthusiast and he said bring it over and he will cut the ends off at the welds and reweld a piece in the center. The seller offered to give me my $$ back , but I told him to send me $25 for the cost of material for repair and Ill keep it and he agreed to that. So in the end itll cost me $37 and be good as new,, yes Im optomistic.

WOW! how the heck could that bend like that? my UMI bar is built like a tank, no way anything is going to bend it. Unless i pulled my car on a trailor just by the PHB LMAO.

i bet it was like as people have said, the car was stuck in a ditch or snow or whatever and someone tied a strap to it and winched it out by the PHB.

just one thing...
if you have a friend that will weld in a new section, why not just get him to make you one from scratch?
...
anyway

Re: Bent UMI panhard bar? pic inside

Make sure it's straight when he finishes. And that the welds are good. And that it's the right length, but that's not as crucial since it's adjustable. That's not something you want to break...lol

Re: Bent UMI panhard bar? pic inside

Well, unless we use a U shaped piece of tubing it cant get much worse..... me and him were discussing it and if it wasnt winched,, maybe someone adusted it fully out when the car was jacked up and then lowered it,,, just a thought but the brackets may be weaker than the tubing ....eitherway whats done is done and its fab. time

Re: Bent UMI panhard bar? pic inside

I'd say even in that event, the rear end would just shift really far to one side before it bend like that. At least I'd think. I'd say someone either pulled something or something pulled the car. Hey, yeah, this looks strong enough lol. Hope it works out for you and you get a nice final product.
