Re: spohn 8pt roll bar??
I recently ordered the 8 pt. mild steel cage with swing out bars on both sides from Spohn... It will not be installed for a few months because I have a lot of other stuff to work on right now. As far as I can tell it looks good and once its powder coated and installed it will be well worth the money, which I didnt think was too much for this cage. It is heavy though.

No I am not. I have no experience welding and I am not about to start learning with the cage I actually need to find a shop that will do it and not kill me on the install cost...

Re: spohn 8pt roll bar??
So a local shop just quoted me $800 to install the 8-pt roll cage from Spohn... Am I wrong in thinking that is absolutely insane!!? What have you guys paid for installing roll cages?

Actually thats not bad at all if you do the math, they have to remove the interior do all the fit and finish triming. actually weld everything in and re install the interior. hourly rate in my area is starting at 82.00 an hr. and up. It'll take atleast 16 hours just to do the welding and trimming. you'll save money by removeing what you can to save time. so do the math 16 x 82.00= 1312.00

Yea, I asked around too. Most say that its not that bad either... They charge $80/hr for welding. And they custom fab roll cages for all sorts of race cars so they know what they are doing but I was just shocked.
I am removing all interior myself and reinstalling and triming as I reinstall to save the cost...
