Firebird wheels

I have stock 16in firebird formula wheels on a WS-6 equiped 1989 Formula. I would like to keep them on the car. Currently the car has wide low profile tire in the front and rear and it look stupid (my opinion). Does anyone know the stock tire size for this wheel? How wide is the rim? Also if anyone has suggestions for tire that fit the car that would be greatly apreciated. I am looking for a tall, wide tire in the rear and a stock tire in the front

Re: Firebird wheels

245/50/16 i believe is stock...i was running 255/50s i think in the rear, and it wore a hole thru the plastic piece that protects the gas fill tube. Didn't affect it adversely any other way though. The reason i'm unsure is i switched back to 245's all the way around again.

Re: Firebird wheels

Thank you, i can't look at the pic for some reason...i think because we aren't friends on facebook. you got a pic anywhere else?? you can post one on here if you got it on your computer or host it on a website like photobucket.

yea i'm going nuts being in college now i have no time for it, but winter break i should be ready to lay down a coat of paint and reassemble. Next project for the car is a 350 TPI or LT1, possibly up to a 6 speed if i got the cash.

Re: Firebird wheels

Hey, i just got the pic to work...i absolutely love that color. I had an '88 RS that i had to let go of that was that color, and i miss it dearly. You got an excellent platform to work off of it looks like. More promising than mine was, lol. Bully, whos tires you want to see??? ejmcdona's right??

where did you get the Fiberglass rear spoiler bullydawg? I had to remove mine due to rust issues and the one i replaced it with (still rubber) is not that much better (looks ok though)

I like the color too it actually looks good on that car

Re: Firebird wheels

looks good, i prob need to do steering next, waiting to take it for an allignment to find out if it is okay/still adjustable. Hawks i think has the fiberglass ones for 86-90, but they cost quite a bit, thats why i went with a 91/92 fiberglass one.

Re: Firebird wheels

Ya, hawks... is the 91-92 one cheaper? What size are your tires? They dont look Lo-pro, looks like your car is sitting high.

Re: Firebird wheels

used 91/92 is cheaper, lol. I got mine in mint shape used for $150, hatch and all. All i hear about is how expensive the fiberglass 86-90 spoilers are, so i said forget that, and ended up stumbling upon this deal and said what the hell. Then i got the four formula wheels for $100, and the tires for $300 with free shipping, so it all came together really nicely. Which ride are you talking about bully?
