Will these fit? AR Rebels!

I decided I want a simple 5 spoke rim that's wider than 8 inch. I found these bad boys and I love them. American Racing Rebels...in Black!

Here are the 17x9
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku
Here are the 18x10
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

So what do I have to do to get these to fit. I'm not sure what size I want to go with yet. I heard I need adapters/spacers but I know nothing about rims, offset, and backspacing.

I was thinking about staggering the rims, 17 up front and 18 in back. Someone on this board said the 17s look way different than the 18s so I'm not sure yet. I want 255s up front, and 275s in back so that's why I was thinking the 18x10 in back.

Help is appreciated, this is like the perfect rim to me, so I wanna try to get these to work on my car. Thanks!

Re: Will these fit? AR Rebels!

What about some C5 or C6 wheels from a Corvette they're five spoke, just put some C6 on my '88 this week, 18" & 19" I like them. They only need 2" adapters front & back and a little inner fender work. Later.

Re: Will these fit? AR Rebels!

I don't want to have to do inner fender work, I just want to put them on my car and drive. 19s are too big anyways. But you should post pics anyways haha.

Re: Will these fit? AR Rebels!

I have 17x9 AR Rebels w/ 275/40's on my '91 Formula.

They need a minimum 1/2" spacer (if using stock brakes) to clear the tie rod.

They fit on the rear, but may interfere with the early style disc brake cables. They will clear the late PBR's. I like the 1/2" spacer in the rear as well for looks.

The front wheel bearing dust cover will be a problem on the front & will need some mods to clear the wheel center. This is the only issue. Search some of my other posts for more detail.

Do you have pics of it on your car? That would be great.

I have discs in front, and drums in back I think. Will they go on ok?

Re: Will these fit? AR Rebels!

I haven't got pics to post yet but there are a few other guys on here with Vette wheels on their 3rd gen that could get in on this and post pics. Later.

Re: Will these fit? AR Rebels!

I will try to get you a picture of the whole car. Here are pictures of just the wheels installed.

They fit with rear drums as well.

FYI, I'm not real thrilled with the wheel quality though. The chrome is very thin & I actually returned the first set after
a few months as you could start to see through the chrome.

Re: Will these fit? AR Rebels!

Hey thanks, can you get me a side shot so I can see how much of a curve the spokes have? Also, are those the 17s or 18s?

I'm getting them in black so I don't care about the chrome finish.

I'm not a fan of curved rims so hmmm...

Re: Will these fit? AR Rebels!

They are 17x9.

The spokes have a curve, but not much. They are set well into the wheel & do not have a cone shape from the side. I have the same dislike as you & searched for a long while before I bought these. Unfortunately, the only other wheels I really like are over $3000 a set... quite a bit of cash for my daily summer driver. I can't polish them every week.

I'll try to get you picture tomorrow. The car was filthy today & did not get around to cleaning it.
