Does anyone know the swaybar wall thickness'?

Like the title says, does anyone know the different thickness' of the swaybars for our vehicles? Is the thickness the same no matter the diameter of the bar?

Thanks,
Mike

Does anyone have any idea how I could measure this?

Why would you need to measure it?

Re: Does anyone know the swaybar wall thickness'?

The hollow bars have a drain hole near the end link. I suppose you could somehow manage a measurement.

I'm trying to make a program to compare the stiffness of the different sized sway bars. This way, when someone says "yeah, swapping from a 23 solid to a 24 solid made a huge difference," I actually have proof that it does (it is roughly 18.56% stiffer). Anything below 10% cannot be felt by the average driver.

I only have a 34 hollow and a couple 36 hollows to get the measurement from. I guess I'll just try and use a piece of wire to figure out the thickness of each bar.

Re: Does anyone know the swaybar wall thickness'?

Measure the length of a drill bit, then zero your calipers on that. Then stick the drill bit in, and measure length of drill bit + wall thickness. That'll be your wall thickness.
Maybe a few other members will be willing to measure theirs as well for ya.

Ok, here is a chart comparing the stiffness of the solid rear swaybars...

Re: Does anyone know the swaybar wall thickness'?

so a used 1" is the same as a new one? Or am i reading it wrong?

would be very interested in the data from the front sway bars

Re: Does anyone know the swaybar wall thickness'?

Its not a new/used thing, its to compare one size to another. So you go from a 19 to a 24 and you 154.6% stiffer.
