Put a regular size tire in the front. Why would you even put a 275 in the front any way?

I never cut a hole in my hood you must need glasses, its called cowl induction. Anyways ... there is no reason for a 275 tire for the front wheels. The car was never meant to have such a wide tire in the front and there is no advantage that you could possibly think for doing so. Put a 215-235 tire on the front like a normal person would and your problem is sovled.

silly me ,i forgot you were the engineer on the camaros .thats why you know they were never meant for 275s....forgive me? and why would i go to a 215-235 when it came with 245s?oh thats right you said they werent meant for a wide tire up front so i should go to a smaller tire than what the real engineers decided on.

Even a 245 to a 275 is a big difference. If you want your car looking like sanford and son built it straight out of the ghetto go for it. Its fairly obvious that common sense eludes you and and your stupidity shows for it.

Re: front tires scrubbing bad

I don't know where to start....

Other than, nothing wrong with 275s up front. My GTA certainly doesn't look ghetto. 215s...Now THAT looks ghetto. Maybe it's just me....But I like the car to actually change direction when I turn the wheel at speed. Not just plow straight ahead, unless I slow down enough.

274s/40ZR17s front, 285/40ZR17s rear. Zero rub, front or back.

How low is your car? What is the backspacing of the wheels?

not sure the back spacing because they were aftermarket wheels and i had to use skulte adaptors/spacers to correct back spacing.

How did you decide which ones to order from Skulte, if you didn't know where you were starting from???

Sounds like you ordered the wrong size. Skulte will exchange them, but I'm not sure of his policy on that. You might simply need a thicker one.

Re: front tires scrubbing bad

A # like 26mm would be your offset, not the backspacing. What size adapter did you get? I bet you need a thicker one.

Re: front tires scrubbing bad

I'll answer this in 2 parts.....

First, there is nothing wrong w/ 275's up front if properly installed... people use them when they desire a high level of handling. I run them on my car & they do not hit or stick out. Obviously these are not meant for the drag racer type, but a great addition if you want to help the cornering capability.

This was one of the best mods I did to mine after springs/shocks. The additional traction also helps to utilize the 13.1 front & 12" rear rotors that I put on the car.

Second, you may have an alignment problem or are using too much offset/spacer. The further out the wheels are, the more scrub you will get. I only notice a slight scrub, if turned to lock & backing up. Tire wear is very even on mine & I hammer the turns every chance I get. Try to get your wheels in as far as possible. Look at the tie rod to wheel clearance as a gauge of how far they can go inwards. Mine are about 1/4" away.

Re: front tires scrubbing bad

Sorry to randomly jack this thread, but being from West-By-God-Virginia I feel I must speak out.

A. There is nothign wrong with 275's up front.

B. 84 z28, Where do you get your jollies in calling someone from NEW YORK a southern red neck? Quite frankly, I'm offended. And racist at that? How can you be so sure that he isn't in fact of a different descent than Caucasian? I feel you should verify all of your facts before you retaliate with sarcasm.

Once again I apologize....

Proceed with the tire talk.

Re: front tires scrubbing bad

I just installed 245s up front on mine and had to do a minor grind job on the tie rods to get myself a little bit of extra clearance. A tiny bit more of a spacer would have helped as well.

I agree that there is nothing wrong with 275s up front if thats what he wants to do. I am offended by the comments about someone must be a ******* southerner if they want their car set up like that.

So, my question would be to ask where exactly your tires are rubbing? The fenderwell?? or the tie-rod? Or somewhere else entirely? That would be the first question to ask, then proceed with a plan from there.

Good luck!
