Illumina shocks at the track
How do these work in the front? I have them installed but haven't gotten to the track yet. I can't find the compression and rebound specs for em.
I have stiffer springs in the front and rear, and I know I want the front end to come up quickly and settle down slowly. I'm just hoping that at the weakest setting, they arent weak both directions...
I have an auto but it shifts real hard.

Re: Illumina shocks at the track
Hi-
I'm thinking of these to replace my old Formula GPs.
I have not used them.
However, they may not be what you want for the strip. The adjustments are supposedly for compression AND rebound (each click adjusts both).
You would be closer to what you want with shocks (like Konis) where the rebound only is adjustable. That way you could set the rebound light and still have the compression where you want it.
If you ever switch, PM me, maybe I will buy them.

Re: Illumina shocks at the track
Thats kinda what I was afraid of, but I heard they were still good at the track.
I suppose they're called single adjustable? And what your talking about is double adjustable?
Decent street handling is more important to me, since in theory I should make enough power to get into the 9's, 8's take significantly more power, so I don't really feel any desire to progress.
But if I do switch, I'll let you know. They really are great shocks for the road, the car is very stiff, but still handles bumps surprisingly well.

Re: Illumina shocks at the track
My info on the other shocks is from this board.
I understand the 2 Konis adjustables and the KYB adjustable to have a set compression rate and adjustable rebound rates.
Double adjustable race shocks (where comp and rebound are independantly adjustable) are quite pricey. The Illuminas adjust both at the same time, 5 choices, I guess.
By the way, what # are you using on the street?

Re: Illumina shocks at the track
I started at 4 and it was real stiff, went to 1 to try and get more weight transfer and traction, was a better ride but a little floaty, 3 would probably be perfect.
