Coil Spring Isolators

Does anyone still have their factory spring isolators? The fronts are available from Spohn, but the rears seem to have fallen off the face of the planet. I've found rear isolators for the 4th gens, and I guess they work, but they're thicker and only available from GM (At like, $23 for the set).

If anyone has their isolators still in one piece, could you take some measurements of them? Energy Suspension carries a line of universal isolators, all you need is measurements.

Thank you for any help!

Oh, and factory part numbers are:
Front 14047915
Rear 10019587
If anyone has access to a parts computer or something that would have dimensions on it.

Re: Coil Spring Isolators

I just did my springs today. You can use heater hose for the isolators. Just Get some big enough and push it on there.

Re: Coil Spring Isolators

inside diameter 2 1/2 to 2 3/4" slight taper
outside diameter 6"
total height 1 9/16"
outside lip height 3/4"
pad height 1/2" to 3/4" ramps up to allow for curve of spring.
Pad width about 3/4".
Lip Height 1/4"
Take these with a slight grain of salt, I just used a tape and some eye ball. I'm sure close would be good enough. You just want the pad height close so as to not alter your ride height and not allow the spring to sit angled.
By the way I picked up two very nice condition sets at Pick a Part for about $5.

Re: Coil Spring Isolators

Those the fronts or the rears?

I think those'd be the rears. Not that it seems to matter. None of the energy suspension parts come anywhere NEAR those sizes. C'est la vie. I'll check the boneyard, and if that doesn't work, looks like I'll be wrapping my springs in heater hose. :P

Re: Coil Spring Isolators

I tried to put heater hose over the fronts, they wouldn't go into back into their pockets. So I ended up cuting the hose up and tapeing it to the top of the spring with electrical tape.
The back springs on my car appeared not to ever of had isolators.

Re: Coil Spring Isolators

I'm 90% sure that's how my rear springs look right about now. And they let me know. By squeaking and the occasional CLANG. They're gonna be getting a priority heater hose job. >.>

Re: Coil Spring Isolators

The rears might have enough room up in there to just slip on some heater hose and toss them back in.

Re: Coil Spring Isolators

Heater hose works fine, if you wish, though as has been mentioned, there are thousand of OE isolators in the yards. Should you use heater hose expect a drop of a 1/2 inch or less. The fourthgen isolators will jack the rear up.

Re: Coil Spring Isolators

If you want some stock isolators I have the front and rear isolators. I'll looks at them better but they look like they are in good shape. Just pay shipping and they are yours.

Re: Coil Spring Isolators

i bought the energy suspeension poly isolators.
http://store.summitracing.com/egnsea...D9%2D6108G&x=0

they were a little big i.d. wise but worked great and are in my car right now. seems like polyurethane will hold up better than heater hose. i greased em up real good and no squeaks
