Upper Strut Mounts & Bump Steer Kit

Are new USM's and a bump steer kit really necessary when lowering a car 1" front and rear?

Re: Upper Strut Mounts & Bump Steer Kit

if you are looking to get the most out of the suspension, then yes they would help. are they needed for the changeover, no, unless you race the car you probably wont even notice a difference.

New strut mounts may be a good anyway just because if they are still stock chances are they are worn out. bumpsteer kit is not a dire necessity, but like i said, if you are looking to squeeze every last bit of performance out of the car, then the bump steer kit will help you in that quest

Re: Upper Strut Mounts & Bump Steer Kit

Thank you very much for the info, I suppose I'll have to find me a set. Are there any that you recommend?

Re: Upper Strut Mounts & Bump Steer Kit

hotpart.com sells a good adjustable strut mount, and Spohn performance also makes good mounts, theirs are taller to allow the strut to retain its full range of travel even in a lowered car. I have had both, and currently use Spohns.
