people with Spohn crossmembers, need exhaust help.
I have a car that im close to putting together. I dont know what im doing with the exhaust yet but i have a feeling that the spohn crossmember will be in the way of the header tubes when they get bolted up. The crossmsber is for a th350 conversion. Anyone have a similar set up, maybe with pics?

Thats what it looks like. I do need to run duals, I need to know who has done it and how. I have a pretty good exhaust shop but would like to bring them a good idea or two.

my exhaust guy is the best. he really can get stuff in tight places. ive trimmed my spohn x member as well, to allow the pipes to tuck up a lil closer.
this is the best pic i have.
ground clearance isnt great, but i do not scrub over speedbumps at all.
m very happy with all my spohn products. if i wouldnt have bought this torque arm 5 years ago, id go with a shorty cross brace style.
exhaust routing is frustrating.

I ran my 3" exhaust from my long tubes under or around spohns crossmember, and it was a pain in the but. I is almost the same as stage20s and it sure is low to the ground.

I got my Spohn crossmember and said WFT! I am never going to have room for exhaust. I ended up cutting the factory subframe out and making new frame rails. Not I have dual 3" exhaust with tons or room!

Re: people with Spohn crossmembers, need exhaust help.
I have 3.5" true duals on my car with a spohn crossmember. Two slight bends off the header and a small clearance notch on the top side of the pipe. Notch in pipe only needed since my car sits pretty low. I have also put 3" on a friends car with with no issues. I don't have any good pics on the work comp of under the car. Here's the best I can do at work. I can take some better pics this weekend. Both cars are street driven with no issues.
Here's how low the car sits.

Re: people with Spohn crossmembers, need exhaust help.
I have the spohn with th350 and am running dual 3". I angled the exhaust to go under the crossmember at the highest point. It scraped like hell. So then I put a jack under with some wood and mushed the pipes a little. MMMMMMM Still scraped. I then put stiffer springs in the front, and tokiko adjustable shocks. The old shocks were blown to hell. I now have no problems no matter how fast I go down bumpy roads. Nice ride too. Havent hit any speed bumps yet. Car still isnt road legal.
Radial tire king your car gives me wood. I cant wait until the track opens up and I can take my new car.

very nice exhaust work...i'm in this boat now..i want to run a true dual 3inch setup and i have no clearance under the car. If i run the pipes around the crossmember in best spot for maximum clearance i think i will only have 2-3 inches of clearance. I could live with that but i'm considering notching the frame for another 1 inch or so. Shouldnt cause too much structural damage..especially if i box it all back up with some plate steel and run subframe connectors, tieing it all together and then possibly a 8 point cage
