Re: SFC's Alstons or UMI?
Seems im not the first with shipping issues, atleast he made it right for that guy, problem very similar to mine.

Again, I apologize for the shipping delay.
No matter a company does they are going to have mistakes here and there. That issue was almost a year ago, a few issues a year is common with any larger company. We ship 150-200 packages a week, for a few a year to get mixed up is still over a 99% accuracy.
Again I apologize, But I am glad you like them.

Looks good. The black color really hides them nice. I was thinking of spraying mine with flat black eventually, just because they are so visible.
Any luck on installing them yet?

Re: SFC's Alstons or UMI?
I posted this picture earlier in the thread, but I will put it again for you here.
Anyhow, the trick is to get the main SFC in place, then stick the little piece over the exhaust and on top of the main sfc. Then, slide it forward or backward, untill it is tight with both the subframe and the connector. Probably more forward like mine. Then, mark exactly where it needs to be welded to the SFC.
You really should weld it off the car. I didnt, because we didnt have the resources to replace exhaust flanges just to drop the pipe. But if your exhaust is newer, you should be able to get the whole y-pipe out, and the catalytic pipe too. That will give you room to lift it in place all as one part. Just like the driver side.
Also, when you put the exhaust back on, you might be able to put a little more slack in the hangars to lower it some more. But it probably should fit fine unless you are running dual cats or some massive pipe.

If the y-pipe is all one piece with the test pipe and intermediate pipe, I would just un-bolt it from the header flanges. Then, slide the hangers off and it should drop down. No need to un-do it from the muffler, because there is plenty of play back there. Even if it only rotates down a little ways, that should be enough room to lift the SFC in there as one piece.

No, but I was thinking about it. I figured it wouldnt be strong enough to hold up the shear weight of them.

From the rear, under the car. I'm on jack stands doing an axle swap and front end work. My SFC's are just a little lower than the GFX, but the exhaust is actually lower.

I would think that SFCs would help creeks more than rattles.

Damn. Looks nice on yours.
Also, lemme know how it held up to the floor jack test.

Re: SFC's Alstons or UMI?
I just had my alstons installed last saturday at a local muffler/welding shop. Round, square, zee channel, alstons, umi or briggs and stratton all I can say is WOW. I could tell the instant that I backed off of the lift. My car is a vert, and they made a huge difference. I recommend SFC's to everybody that has a 3rd gen.
