CLUNK

just wondering ive got a 1988 camaro no wonder bar or sway bar the day before i went to get them i started to hear a loud clunk coming from what seems to be the gear box. i do drve it hard especially cornering. could i have craked my k member. also all bushings look good also no play in the ball joints, and new struts and loiring springs.

Re: CLUNK

check your panhard bar / trace brace bar . it goes from r/h side of axle to l/h side of body . on my 89rs all 3 bolts that secure brace to body had fallen out . weird handeling and CLUNK . replaced bolts , all was good . if this is your problem , clean female threads and use locktite on new bolts .

Re: CLUNK

i have the same problem so i don't think you cracked your k member. I think it's a front end wear issue for me. lots of miles and loose front end.

Re: CLUNK

I just came across a clunk on my 88, but come to find out it was a stabilizer bar link that had snapped in two. not sure if you checked already.
