4th gen front spindles?

Does anyone know, or has anyone tried to put 4th gen front spindles on a 3rd gen car? I've been looking at some Wilwoods but according to their site, they don't make a full package for our rides. (Something about that doesn't seem right, but hey) I've already got the rear out of a '98 4 wheel disk in the car and will be looking to upgrade those VERY soon after, if not at the same time, as I do the fronts.

Thanks in advance

Re: 4th gen front spindles?

4th gens use a double A-arm setup
3rd gens use a single lower connected to the strut

No they dont work without major suspension changes

Re: 4th gen front spindles?

A board member makes a 4 piston/ 13" rotor WilWood kit for our cars that fits in the 16 inch wheels. What I'm going with as soon as I can afford it.

Re: 4th gen front spindles?

Won't make 4th gen spindles fit a 3rd gen.

Re: 4th gen front spindles?

Thanks again guys. Might have to look into that kit you mentioned. Eventually, I want her rolling on 18" Centerlines though....

Re: 4th gen front spindles?

I was just mentioning th 16s because you can run with the stock wheels. Which is good for me because I run the stockers in winter with all seasons.
His screen name is ebmiller88. Good guy, I bought my 4th gen rear from him.

Re: 4th gen front spindles?

I retrofitted a Wilwood's 4th gen 6 piston brake kit onto my 3rd gen with custom hubs and brackets. It wasn't cheap but it is 13inch rotors and 6 piston calipers on aluminum hubs under factory 16" IROC wheels. Been on there 3 years daily driven and working great.

Here are the specs to follow on this page:

My next brake build will be C6 Z06 6 piston calipers and 14inch rotors on the front of my '89 C1500 truck. Rears wil be 4 piston 13.4 inch Vette Z06 rear setup also I should have this done by about Feburary08- I am making a Z06 themed truck right now.

Hmmm.... I may have to try this.
And that's a *avoids cliche* idea on the truck.
