Other names for Centerlink?
I've heard it called a "drag link" before so I was wondering if it had other names.
I'm in the market for a new one (my alignment guy says the GM part will give the most miles - true or not, I was looking anyway) and I can't seem to find one on gmpartsdirect.com.
Thanks,
Scott

Center link is a center link but it acts something like a drag link.
The center link fits between the pitman arm and an idler arm. There's a left and right tie rod with left and right tie rod ends attached from the center link to the steering arms on both sides. Equal force is applied to each wheel directly by the pitman arm
A drag link attaches from the pitman arm directly to the steering arm. There's then a single tie rod connected to the steering arms on each wheel. Turning the steering wheel applies force to the left wheel through the drag link which then forces the right wheel to turn through the tie rod.

Another vote for MOOG instead off oem for the center link. They are good pieces or you can go with the top of the line NAPA suspension stuff which is also very good.

Any luck finding a new centerlink? Just had my shop mount & balance new tires, and they said that they can't align the car because of a bad centerlink.
Please let me know how you made out.

Everyone says to go Moog. What's the benefit of spending the extra coin on a centerlink? Seems to me like pretty much any brand should work relatively the same... no?

Re: GM Draglink
Gong to bring this back from the dead here... rockauto has both a centerlink and a draglink listed. It sounds like they are the same, so I can buy the Moog centerlink (#DS1049) instead of the AC Delco draglink (#88910971), correct?

Autozones Brand "Duralast" is accually MOOG. I've used name brand MOOG on my Formula dna ll Duralast on the camaro and both are perfect , look identical and identical part numbers. Some of the parts were even stamped moog.

Re: GM Draglink
they may be made by moog, but ill wager that they are not the same as the top of the line parts. The parts store ones like that are probably the parts that moog makes that are defective in some small way but still functional.
They have to cut almost $40 off the cost of the moog part some were and its probably not from there profit.
