spohn coilovers?
anyone who has the spohn coilovers please give some input on how you like them, and what spring numbers you chose and how it rides.......and so on and so forth...lol. im thinking about swapping out my sportlines for the spohn coilovers. im thinking about the 325 or the 350 spring for the front. steve told me the 300 spring is the equivalant to my sportlines up front now. i didnt have the time to really talk to him though and still need input on the coilovers. thanks guys!

i have them installed on my car but have not driven it yet. what i can tell you is the kit came with 10" coils. i opted for 300 lb. after installing them with a 26 inch tall tire and lakewood 90/10 drag struts, the front end sat way up in the air. the directions say you can go with an 8" but it's not really advised. i changed them anyway to a qa1 8" 350 lb spring. it sits perfectly now with the adjusters all the way down. doesn't lool like i'm gonna have much suspension travel though. have to wait and see.

I love mine. Its not bad for a daily driver with the 325# springs. Even with the koni red's set to full stiff up front and in the middle setting out back. The feeling vs the stock setup is much more precise going over the bumps.
FWIW I was still cutting 1.84 60's when I switched to that setup.

everything i have purchased from spohn has been top shelf quality. he includes two 1/4" plates that bolt under the shock tower to strenghten the package. no complaints on that end.

150-175 and that strut and youd have a better ride height and suspension adjustment.
who recommended a 300# spring and the 90/10, or is that the way it ended up?

spohn has changed their coil over kits since i purchased mine. he used to have only one kit. now he breaks it up into touring and drag kits. if you notice the springs are 14" long on his drag kit. thus he is using a lighter spring with more coils. on his touring kit the recommeded spring pressure is 300 lbs with a 12" spring. he recommended 300# with the 10" springs. however when i went down th 8" i increased the spring pressure to compensate for the lower ride heigth and less strut travel. the projected weight of the car (my goal) is 2800-3000 lbs. i am building it as a strip car with street capabilities. my suspension setups are all based on theories in my head from reading and talking to people; so as of yet completely untested. i am by no means an expert with this and am hoping to have a drag car with at least some street manners. wish me luck.

You also prolly got the first setup when he did offer a 10" spring. After looking at it a bit more there wasn't enough travel with that setup till he switched over to the spring being mounted under the strut mount
