87 Camaro K member

I have an 87 Camaro with a 358" motor full manual th350 w/3500 stall,4.56 gears running 7.30 (1/8) 12.40 (1/4) all street legal. My question is does anyone have the dimensions of a stock or aftermarket k member? I'm trying to do a 3d model of one to build for my Camaro. My problem is my car is about 25 miles away at my dads house and I don't have enough time to go get dimensions.
Thanks, Chevyracer8262.

Good luck. It will be much easier to just buy one. There's a lot of different angles required. The average person will have no idea what they are.

I do a lot of fabrication work on my car but building my own k-member is something I didn't want to do. If I did build my own, I would have changed a couple of things to help with my header clearance.

You'll need a proper tubing, not pipe, bender. I'd recommend a TIG welder also.

Kinda off post, but.... People new to the site often miss the search feature. I typed in "biggest tire and stock rim" and got 25 links. Welcome to the board.

I'm a Cad designer for piping, hvac and structure so angles and stresses are not hard to calculate, I also have all the equipment at my shop to fabricate almost anything I need to build. My car right now was just a throw together, we were all supprised at how it runs. I hit on a pretty good combination when I built the car. It only has a 358" engine w/10.5:1 comp, stock rods, stock crank, 186 heads with no work, dual plain holley intake, full length headers w/2.5" muffled exhaust (true duals). Like I said I build everything I can and if I can't I know people who can. I have alot of plans for this car, I'm building it up to run the real street class. I know I have a long way to go. I already have fabed full tubular rear suspension, replaced the 7.625" rear with a 8.5", fabed and installed a 12 point mild steel roll cage and subframe connectors. I get away cheap by doing my own work. Designing and fabing a k member will not be hard just time consuming. I already have jig table to build off of.

I'm not saying you can't do it but what you're asking for is beyond most people's knowledge. Your best bet is to go to your car and get the dimensions you need.

That's what I figured, I've just found so much info on this site I wanted to see if anyone had done it already.
