Running taller than stock tires in the front??? 1" difference front to back...
I'm running 285/30/19's out back and planned to run the 'matching' 245/35/19 for the front. That would keep me in the factory spec range. BUT...I just found a set of 245/40/19's for a killer deal and wanted to know how bad it would be to run about an inch difference between the front and back overall diameters.
Main Concern...does anyone run a taller tire in the front and experience any rubbing? The 245/40 is 26.71" tall versus the stock tire of 25.64 and what I planned to run (245/35) at 25.73.
I'm running a 25.68" tall tire now and it looks like its very close to rubbing the ground FX.
BTW...I'm lowered with 2" drop Intrax springs (but have alum heads and the battery located in the rear) and it looks pretty close now.
I can play with the backspacing slightly IF I can find someone locally to machine my spacers if needed.
TIA!

Sounds like it will be a sweet set up, but I would be leary of the large profile tire in the front. I run a 265/35r18 on my front and I will get some very light rub on a dip at higher speeds (50+). My car is dropped with eibach prokit, so not sure how much of a difference this will make, but I hope my input will help you.

I know I need to stay away from it. I'm close to rubbing and with the taller tire I would be too close. It would look like crap anyway I'm sure.
But I would seriously save like $400! Money is extremly tight right now.

I can hear you on that! I scoured the internet for the best deal I could find on mine, and still ended up with some crappy sumitomos. Post some pics when you get them on.
