Instant center out of whack?
I recently made a crossmember for the T56 swap I am finishing up in my '82.I made it myself as it was cheaper than any readily available unit and I enjoy fabricating. As I was planning it out I decided to make the torque arm mount part of the CM in theory like Spohn's units.Basically remove it from the tailshaft as I already had an adjustable TA from Random Technology.I then purchased a readily available TA mount plate from BMR to use in this project which has many holes for changing the height of the TA nose (pic attached). They state on their site it is to change the "instant center".My main question is,depending on what holes I mount it to,how it will effect my car once the pinion angle is set?Due to other clearances needed the top two sets of holes cannot be used so only the bottom 4 sets can be used.I never measured where the TA nose sat heightwise (in relation to the tranny output shaft) stock and I am pretty sure the nose of the TA is lower now than stock. How will this change the instant center, handling, traction as I do race it?

If you are using the stock style sliding link for the TA mount, it will have little effect (see the sticky about LCA angles, there is a TON of IC info in that thread).

There is a pic of at the top of this page
Random Technology
It is like stock though that the TA passes through a bushing in the mount.
