Draglites and MT ET street radials

I am planning on soon purchasing new back tires and rims for the upcoming season and would like to run by you guys what I am planning on getting to make sure all will work well.

I have a 26" tall daily tire, so I would like to keep my drag tires the same height (computer controlled tranny).

I have a Third Gen 10 bolt rear end.

I was thinking Draglite 90 series 15 x 9 w/ 5.5" rear spacing for the rims and MT ET street radial 275/50/15 for the tires.

I want to make sure that these will fit before I order them. The car has Eibach pro-kit springs, so the car does sit a little lower.

If anybody has a better idea, I am open to suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

yes, will fit great! you *may* have to do a little massaging of the inner fender wells to insure a good fit without rubbing since your lowered. but it will fit great and look AWESOME! get these tires and a set of lower control arm relocation brackets and you'll never have traction issues again! (trust me, you'll want these, or else wheel-hop will occur due to the control arm geometry being changed with the lowering of the car and major parts failure will follow)

5.5 B/S is the magic number for our cars. Tucks the tires nicely under the wheel opening.

Thanks alot for all of the very fast feedback, I really appreciate it.

I am glad to hear they will fit. I have heard good things about both those tires and rims.

I have a pair of spohn LCA relocation brackets waiting to go in and I dont have a problem with "modifing" the inner fender a little if I need to.

One more quick question. Does the taller sidewall of the 275/50/15 cause a slower ET vs. the shorter sidewall of a 255/50/16 even though the tires are the same diameter (I'm looking to squeeze every tenth here)?

no, if anything, the taller sidewall will be more forgiving at the launch and allow for more bite, which would equal quicker elapsed times.

Those Spohn brackets work well indeed. Try the different settings. One of the best mods I did to my suspension.

Which setting did you find to be best for drag racing? and which for handling?

Thats somthing you will have to experiment with. Every car is different. My best 60' time was with them in the center.

Am I more likely to run a faster ET (like a tenth or so) with the lighter draglite wheels, or am I wasting money because I will not go any faster timewise than I would with a 35# el cheapo rim?

With lightweight rims and skinnys on the front, you might pic up one tenth, and a MPH or two.
