Factory size on 16" was 245/50/16. - Many people have gone to 255's, no problems. They might rub slightly in the front at full-lock turn, but nothing major.

I agree. I have 245's up front and in the rear. At full turn I have a slight rub, but nothing major. I don't know about 255/60/r16 though. I believe those would be taller tires then stock. However, I'm not too sure how much taller it would be. I BELIEVE that the second number "60" is a percentage of your tire width? A larger number in this case would give you a "taller" sidewall. I'm not positive, but I think you'd be looking at a 255/50/r16. Also, some tires the same size might look fatter. I had a set of BFG and a set of Firestone Firehawks. I never measured them, but I'd swear the firehawks looked wider.

not 255/60. - 255/50/16. Stick w/ the 50 series, don't go to the taller 60 series. - Many people on here w/ them.

do you guys normally put the same size tires on the front? i just took the wheels off my new camaro this afternoon to clean them up and get new tires and i noticed that it had 235/50's in the front and 255/50's in the back.

is it better to run the same size all the way around?

same thing happened to me when i got a used set of 91 Z28 rims. the guy had 225 up front and 245 on the rear. when i changed tires, i put 245 up front too. i don't know if it would be better to run the same size, but handling would be better if you ran the widest size possible. it might be better to run the same size tire if you want to rotate your tires. 91Z rims have different offset up front than back, so i don't. not too sure about iroc wheels, but my original rims were the same all around. they might have been rotated once or twice when my father owned the car.

IROC wheels are the same deal, the backs won't fit on the front. - so no rotating w/o dismount/re-mounting. - As for running different sizs, it mostly depends on your driving and what you do with the car. If you want mostly straight line, stay smaller in the front(less friction) If you want handling/street car drag racing, go same size. When i still had my stock wheels I ran 245's up front and 255's in the back. Couldn't rotate anyhow...
